This film was part of the Key West 72-(ish)Hour Film Challenge and debuted at the Key West Film Festival November 2024.
And we each had to choose a genre from a list of options. Our team picked "Mini Season: A Detective Story."
Gina and Robbie, an eclectic couple struggling to “stay afloat” whilst living on a sailboat in an expensive beachside town, get a taste of how the other half lives when they housesit for a successful businessman.
FILM PRODUCED: Staying Afloat is a short comedy-drama I wrote about the struggles of living aboard on a sailboat. It was produced by Red Baron Films of Manhattan Beach, CA, and debuted at the Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg, FL, in April 2023. It was also accepted into the Duluth Superior Film Fest in October 2023, the Erie Film Fest in December 2023, and the North Film Festival in Stockholm, Sweden (March 2024). FILM PRODUCED: This was a fun, short script written as part of the 72-Hour Film Challenge and aired at the Key West Film Festival!
SCRIPT COMPLETED: Tourist Town is a 30-minute pilot for an animated comedy TV series inspired by Key West. It follows a group of misfits living on Rooster Island who are tired of tourists and decide to take matters into their own hands without thinking of the consequences: they destroy the only bridge into the island!
The Tourist Town script was a semi-finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Animation Screenwriting Competition and a finalist in Stage 32's New Voices in Animation Screenwriting Contest.
The script takes a takes a lighthearted, zany approach to exploring the very real problem of over-tourism and how it destroys the fabric of a community.
The script stars Legless Lucy, the smuggler and one-legged pirate limo driver, Swordfish Bill, the Pacifist scrimshaw artist who lives on his houseboat as they fight Chester Chernbog, the developer dead set on turning the island into a luxury retreat.

After winning the Anne McKee Artist Grant, a short, proof-of- concept film for Tourist Town is currently in the works. You can learn more at Tourist-Town.com.
SCRIPT IN PROGRESS: Wingin' It: Tales from an Airplane Hitchhiker is a feature length film script inspired by my real-life experience hitchhiking on airplanes from 2012-2014.
At the time, the project was featured in publications worldwide including Time.com, CNN, Cosmopolitan, Daily Mail U.K, the Seattle Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and many other media outlets. I hitchhiked to 49 states on more than 100 rides in small, general aviation aircraft (no commercial flights!).
